Alberto Licandro was born in Milan and completed his studies there. He specializes in architectural and interior design projects and once worked as a graphic designer for CASABELLA, Italy's most renowned architecture magazine. He participated in a landmark design competition in Melbourne, Australia, and lived in Sydney, where he was responsible for the interior design of the Sydney Tower (which was the third tallest tower in the world in 1980). Later, he moved to Japan and served as a teaching assistant at Takasaki University of the Arts, where he taught courses on creative architecture and interior design. He also worked at the UAA Architects Studio in Jianwai SOHO, Beijing, taking charge of the design of multiple architectural projects (including two buildings of the Coal Headquarters in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, a five-star hotel, residential buildings, and office buildings) and participating in the master planning and design of Plot 5 in Shanghai Fashion City.
